Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden
What kind of world do we want to leave after ourselves?
A top Irish tourist attraction, Galway’s Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden is known for its woodland and lakeshore walks, magnificent buildings and Ireland’s largest walled garden.
As custodians of the Kylemore estate, the Benedictine Nuns have as one of their central edicts the protection, preservation, and promotion of the unique biodiversity of the 1,000-acre Kylemore estate.
To ensure this, a robust sustainability plan is being implemented across the estate with an aim of making Kylemore a centre for biodiversity research and protection and national leaders in sustainable tourism.
A Sustainability Policy has also been enforced across the estate to ensure all objectives are followed.
